Membership Questions

Q:

How do I request access to this site?

A:

Access to this site requires TEACH membership.  You can request TEACH membership by clicking on the Join link at the very top of this website, and filling out the forms in the step-by-step process that follows.

Q:

Why do I pay a membership fee?

A:

TEACH annual dues cover the basic costs of operation: administrative costs, website fees, insurance, etc.  TEACH does not have any hired employees and strives to keep all costs as low and reasonable as possible.  When funds are available, TEACH will underwrite various events to make them more affordable to families. 

Q:

What are my payment options for membership dues?

A:

You may use a direct PayPal link or write a check.

If you write a check, you can mail it to:  TEACH, PO Box 1226, Traverse City, MI 49685.

I'm new, now what?

A:

First, check out the website features especially the Calendar. Feel free to email or call any of the board members listed under Contact Information.  They would be happy to help! [email protected] would be a good email to reach out to for basic information.  Also, if you are a Facebook user, join our page there.

CLASS Day - Co-op Classes

Q:

What is it, when is it, and how do we join?

A:

T.E.A.C.H. hosts two semesters of co-op classes each school year.  This is a great opportunity to make new friends, encourage one another, and to learn new things.  We offer classes for Kindergarten through High School.  Classes offered vary by semester, but we always have a variety of selections for each age group. We currently meet in Traverse City on Monday afternoons. Fall semester runs September - December; spring semester runs February - May.  

CLASS-Day Registration Instructions

Fall Semester registration occurs in August; Spring Semester registration occurs in January. 

  • Claim Volunteer Positions (A minimum of 2 positions is required to avoid the waitlist.)
    • Click on CLASS Day Registration from the main menu
    • See the Job Matrix for available positions and follow the instructions listed.  Use the linked form found under "Join the Team!"
  • Sign the Volunteer Agreement (located in the main menu)
  • Register for classes based on the dates assigned (See email for dates. Families teaching or serving in multiple jobs register first.)

CLASS Day Fees

  • Family Registration for the semester starts at $100 but is decreased based on volunteering commitments
  • Individual class fees start at $10 each

Policy Questions

Q:

What is T.E.A.C.H.'s inclement weather/closure policy?

A:

Traditionally, we have followed the lead of TCAPS.  If they are closed, we will close.   This year may be different.  Please check your email or the website if you think weather is such that TEACH may have to cancel for the day.  If you feel it is unsafe for your family to travel, please stay home, but do reach out to that event's coordinator.
